GOOD MORNING! Well it is here...I was woken with a cup of tea from my 11 year old. What a great start to the day!
I have decided to start afresh and re-start the blog. It feels good for some reason knowing that this is the first post, and hopefully I shall blog a bit more often from now on.
On the old blog the last post showed a little cat who was going to come and live with us, as you can see below, she has made herself at home.

Some other bits and pieces I have been busy with!
 |
| I finished my cushion |
 |
| My lovely sofa, restored and re-caned by my dad |
My mum bought me an early birthday present and it is my favourite book at the moment. Everything really is cute and easy!
 |
| I started with the circular cushion |
 |
| Then made another one in 'coffee colours' for a friend's birthday |
 |
| Fingerless gloves in progress |
I have also made the tea cosy but the roses are taking a bit of time to sew up and sew on! I will show you the pic of those another time!!
I have become a huge fan of Mollie Makes and in the last magazine there was a beautiful blanket pattern. This has been renamed "The Southwold Blanket Project" as it will be on our bed in our Southwold house, whenever that happens!!!

| Rico Cotton in fabulously bright colours |

| Easy to make and quite addictive! |
I have also had other bits and pieces to get on with. We have a new Curate at work and I was asked to make them a housewarming gift. As a Christian, this verse from Joshua is quite apt and so I put it on their cushion too. This was made rather hastily in freehand because this was at the end of term - a time when it's frantically busy and I had school fairs,
year 6 leaving parties and 11 year old birthdays to deal with as well!

| Welcome cushion |
This blanket is for a couple at church who are expecting a baby girl in October. It is gorgeous, but only a small blanket (pram size). I originally bought the wool for a cardigan for C, but she kept saying the pink was too babyish(!). I started the cardigan in earnest but actually started to agree with her. I do think it looks better in a blanket. It was really easy to make and the pattern is a 'shell' pattern in Crochet Today, Blanket Edition!

We have six more weeks of school holidays which I am really looking forward to! Ask me that after six weeks and I may tell you something different! We have my brother's wedding on Saturday, then another wedding the week after, and then the week after that we will be in Southwold again (yay!)
Hopefully during the six weeks I will get lots of hooky time, and lots of sewing and reading time too. I am waiting for my NEW glasses to arrive which I need for close work. I haven't been able to do any crochet for...ooh a couple of days due to a bad headache when I do any close work and I have really missed it. I need my new glasses NOW!!!
Have a great summer x
